The foundation of the R.A. Group was laid before 1947. Like many young nationalists of the time, Haji Ramzan Ali left his job with a jute mill and started his own enterprise, R.A. Perfumery Works, from a small shop in Central Calcutta, still the Group’s flagship business today.
